MUSCAT – The agreements were signed on behalf of the Youth Centre by His Excellency Basil bin Ahmed Al Rawas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Sports and Youth. Signing on behalf of OOMCO was Tariq bin Mohammed Al Junaidi, CEO of the company, while Anil Khimji, Board Member of the Khimji Ramdas Group, represented Nikon.



The first agreement with Oman Oil Marketing Company focuses on launching the third edition of the Tamakun Self-Employment Program, set to run from September to December 2025. The initiative aims to empower 200 young Omani men and women engaged in freelance work by providing them with practical skills, resources, and tools to help transform their talents into sustainable income-generating ventures.
The second agreement, signed in partnership with Nikon, is dedicated to enhancing youth capabilities in professional photography.

It includes implementing specialized training programs and equipping the Youth Centre with state-of-the-art photography and audio studios, creating a dynamic and creative space for aspiring visual artists.
Ishaq bin Saud Al Manji, Public Relations and Partnerships Officer at the Youth Centre, highlighted the significance of the agreements as part of the Centre’s broader efforts to collaborate with both government and private sector institutions.
“These agreements reflect our continued commitment to building a supportive and inspiring environment for Omani youth. We aim to offer impactful programs and strategic partnerships that equip them with the tools to develop their skills and achieve their ambitions,” he said.
Al Manji emphasised the proven impact of the Tamakun program in supporting young entrepreneurs and noted that the third edition aims to be even more effective in expanding opportunities in the freelance sector. He also underscored that the combination of professional training and access to modern studio equipment will help young creatives produce high-quality artistic and visual content.
The agreements mark a significant step forward in nurturing the next generation of Omani talent and aligning youth development initiatives with the Sultanate’s broader goals for innovation and economic diversification.
