MUSCAT: Five expats have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a person and then blackmailing his family, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) reported on Thursday.
According to ROP, the incident took place in South Sharqiyah when an expat from an Asian nationality was kidnapped by five people and demanded money from his family for his release.
“The South Sharqiya Police Command arrested five Asian people on charges of kidnapping another person of the same nationality and communicating with his family demand money for his release. The case is under process,” ROP said in a statement.
