MUSCAT – Sheikh Saif’s extensive career spans over 50 years, during which he has held several prominent positions, including Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Oman to the United Nations and other international organizations. He also served as Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and as Undersecretary at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for Tourism.
A founding member and former Chairman of the Association, Sheikh Saif has played a pivotal role in deepening ties between Oman and Switzerland. His return in a leading capacity reflects both his enduring commitment and his wealth of experience in international relations.
Expressing his sentiments on the appointment, Sheikh Saif stated, “It is an honor to become the Oman Patron and continue strengthening the enduring ties between Oman and Switzerland, fostering collaboration built on mutual respect, shared values, and a spirit of friendship.” He added his enthusiasm for supporting new initiatives that will further bridge the two nations across various sectors, including culture, business, education, and innovation.
Sheikh Saif will serve alongside Vincent Maitre, the Swiss Patron of the Association, as the organization continues its mission to enhance cooperation and mutual understanding between the two countries.
