Set to run from July through September, the campaign will feature field activities across key locations in the governorate, including shopping centres, tourist hotspots, community institutions, and the CPA’s public office in Atin. The outreach is designed to engage a wide audience—especially visiting families and children—through interactive corners, workshops, and visual presentations.
Dr. Al Junaibi highlighted the use of modern digital tools to enhance public engagement. These include virtual reality (VR) experiences, interactive screens, and tablets featuring the “Young Consumer” app. Children will also learn about their rights through colouring activities and hands-on educational games, blending learning with entertainment.
A mobile exhibition will tour the region displaying prohibited and non-compliant goods, offering real-life examples to raise awareness of product safety. In addition, smart information stands will be installed at Salalah Airport and the Harit border crossing, offering QR codes for quick access to digital resources and CPA services. Awareness billboards will also be displayed across public roads and major commercial areas.
The CPA will also host the second Consumer Protection Forum under the theme ‘Foundations and Rights of Tourists and Residents’. The forum will bring together stakeholders to address key issues related to consumer protection during the Khareef season, emphasizing the rights and safety of visitors and local residents alike.
Inspection activity has been extensive in the lead-up to the season. According to CPA figures, 19,582 market visits and 14,317 inspections of commercial establishments were conducted in the first half of 2025. During the same period, the Directorate received 555 complaints, achieving a 97 percent resolution rate, and 214 reports, with a 99 percent resolution rate.
It’s worth noting that the Consumer Protection Authority is committed to achieving integration with various relevant government and private entities by coordinating efforts, exchanging roles, and providing logistical and informational support. This will contribute to the success of the tourism season and the achievement of shared goals, contributing to a positive and integrated experience for visitors and residents alike.
