The Emgrand’s journey to produce 4 million units is filled with pioneering triumphs. Since
its debut, the Emgrand has claimed six “firsts and uniqueness” in Chinese automotive
history, earning its title as the “national champion sedan.” It became the first to achieve
monthly sales exceeding 60,000 units and the first to secure export exemption
qualifications. For nine years, it has held a spot in China’s top 10 sedan sales, topped
independent sedan sales for three consecutive years, and notched 159 months with over
10,000 units sold.
Certified as the top compact sedan by J.D. Power’s China Automotive
Product Charm Index for two years running and the first to earn China Automotive
Research Institute’s reliability certification.
Over 15 years, four generations of Emgrand have transformed the sedan landscape. The
journey began in 2009 with the first-generation “Safety Champion,” which earned a C-
NCAP five-star rating, a first for a Chinese brand. In 2014, the second-generation “Health
Champion” introduced intelligent connectivity with 4G and voice interaction, alongside a
C-ECAP platinum rating for its health-focused cockpit.
The 2018 third-generation“Technology Champion” brought cutting-edge features like a 7-inch LCD instrument, LED headlights, and front parking radar, making advanced technology accessible to everyday
drivers. In 2021, the fourth-generation “Architecture Champion,” built on the BMA
modular platform, redefined value, quality, and driving dynamics, earning its place as the
official car of the Hangzhou Asian Games.
The 2025 model raises the bar further. With its wide-bodied, low-slung design rooted in Chinese aesthetics, world-class BMA architecture, and class-leading intelligent technology, blending safety, reliability, andinnovation into a new market standard.
