MUSCAT: In light of the rapidly evolving regional developments and the unprecedented escalation of tensions in the Middle East, the Sultanate of Oman continues its intensive diplomatic efforts to urge the international community to adopt all peaceful means to halt the Israeli aggression against Iran – an act that constitutes a blatant violation of international, humanitarian and moral laws, and seeks to undermine efforts toward a fair US-Iran agreement to prevent nuclear proliferation.
In this context, Oman, Egypt, and a number of Arab and Islamic countries have issued a joint statement condemning the Israeli attacks, which started on June 13, 2025.
The statement firmly rejects military escalation, calls for respect of state sovereignty and advocates for the peaceful resolution of disputes. It expresses deep concern over the consequences of the escalation, urges an end to hostilities and calls for the region to be free of nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction.
