Muscat: The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) confirmed that the incident occurred at 1:30 am on June 17, 2025, approximately 24 nautical miles off the UAE’s coastline in the Sea of Oman. The vessels involved were the oil tanker ADALYNN, registered under the flag of Antigua and Barbuda, and the cargo ship Front Eagle, flying the Liberian flag.

Preliminary findings point to navigational error as the cause of the collision, which caused surface damage to both ships’ outer hulls. A small oil spill and a fire in the fuel tank of ADALYNN followed the impact. Authorities acted swiftly to extinguish the blaze, and no injuries were reported among crew members on either vessel.

In a coordinated rescue effort, 24 crew members aboard ADALYNN were safely evacuated to Khor Fakkan Port by search and rescue units from the Coast Guard and other maritime authorities. The ministry lauded the rapid response and professionalism of the emergency teams involved.

A full technical investigation is now underway in collaboration with international maritime organizations to ensure full compliance with global safety and environmental standards.
