Muscat – A seasoned businessman and engineer with over 15 years of international experience, Al Lawati is set to offer powerful insights into the role of fintech in driving sustainable economic development and financial inclusion.

Combining a background in chemical engineering with extensive leadership in the energy and technology sectors, Al Lawati has spearheaded multi-million-dollar projects across Shell, Oman LNG, and now Wadiaa. As CEO of Wadiaa, he has been instrumental in enabling financing for numerous SMEs through AI-driven credit scoring and peer-to-peer lending, thereby fostering local economic growth.

A platform based in Oman, Wadiaa specialises in providing financial solutions and crowdfunding services, aiming to link projects and businesses with investors to drive economic advancement and social betterment.

Organised by The Arabian Stories, BTS 2025 will take place under the theme ‘Sustainability and the Future of Banking’, bringing together leaders from banking, technology, and fintech to explore how digital transformation is reshaping financial services across the region.
