Muscat – The agreement, signed by His Excellency Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, and Badar bin Mohammed Al Nadabi, CEO of Mwasalat, aims to enhance and develop public transport infrastructure in North Al Batinah Governorate. It reflects the government’s commitment to supporting public-private partnerships and improving mobility for residents and visitors.

Strategically located near the Sohar-Abu Dhabi railway passenger station and the Sohar Port and Free Zone, the planned station is expected to serve as a vital link in Oman’s evolving multimodal transport network.

Eng. Salem bin Hamid Al Shibli, Advisor to the Governor’s Office, stated that the agreement forms part of a broader strategy to enhance urban mobility and facilitate passenger movement within the governorate. He noted that the cooperation extends to preparing project specifications, managing bids, and overseeing implementation and operations in partnership with the developer.

He explained that this project falls within the framework of the urban strategy projects in North Al Batinah Governorate and is expected to stimulate commercial activity and supply chains and providing significant added value – most notably job opportunities.

The project is part of North Al Batinah’s urban development strategy and is scheduled to be tendered for public bidding in the second half of 2025.
