MUSCAT : Speaking to The Arabian Stories on the sidelines of the Advantage Oman Forum, His Excellency Khimji highlighted the forum’s role in showcasing Oman’s unique advantages.

“We’ve had a fantastic day yesterday… Yesterday was basically showcasing Oman to the world, saying that Oman is here, Oman is ready, Oman is welcoming investments of a nature in the particular verticals with the right ecosystem,” he stated, reflecting on the forum’s initial impact.”

One of the key outcomes of the forum was the signing of a significant investment deal in the solar panel manufacturing sector, worth over half a million dollars. “It is nothing but reinforcing our belief that we don’t need to create individual siloed manufacturing units. We need to create a whole ecosystem from polysilicon to ingots to wafers to chips and then to panels. This is a testimony of the fact that we have been very dogged in our approach to how we want to attract investment in which particular sectors.”

His Excellency Khimji clarified the primary objective of the Advantage Oman Forum, stating, “It’s not a conference to sign contracts, it’s a conference to basically highlight Oman’s advantage… We are here to tell the world that look, if this region is of interest to you as a market potential – whether it’s Africa or the Indian subcontinent or even Southeast Asia – Oman could be the logistically and strategically the best way forward.”
