MUSCAT : The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Ministry, the Cultural Club and Bait Al Zubair Foundation. It aims to promote cultural work by facilitating cooperation between various sectors, both within Oman and globally.
Aligned with the objectives of Oman’s cultural strategy, particularly in the areas of creativity and cultural development, the Omani Cultural Laboratories will focus on empowering cultural production through creativity, innovation, and research. The project will also support the exchange of expertise, strengthen cultural dialogue, and promote partnerships with both local and international institutions.
The laboratories will serve as platforms for showcasing Oman’s rich cultural heritage and fostering global awareness of Omani traditions, values, and knowledge. They will host cultural programs, exhibitions, research projects, and intellectual meetings to explore and share Omani content, while also working to expand and enhance this content through international collaboration.
His Excellency Sayyid Saeed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and the General Supervisor of the Team, emphasised that the formation of the Omani Cultural Laboratories is a key step in strengthening the national cultural movement. He highlighted the importance of cooperation between cultural institutions, which will help consolidate Oman’s identity and cultural values in regional and international forums.
Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Al Balushi, Chairman of the Cultural Club and Vice Chairman of the Executive Team, praised the decision, stressing the importance of sharing Oman’s cultural achievements with the world. He noted that the project will play a vital role in the global exchange of knowledge and cultural ideas.
Dr. Mohammed Abdul Karim Al Shehhi, a member of the Board of Trustees of Bait Al Zubair and Head of the Executive Team, expressed his appreciation for the Ministry’s efforts in transforming Oman’s cultural heritage into a source of knowledge and a means of fostering global cultural dialogue. He highlighted that this partnership between Bait Al Zubair and the Cultural Club is a testament to the collective strength of Oman’s cultural institutions working together under the state’s guidance.
Through the direct supervision of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, the Omani Cultural Laboratories will play a key role in ensuring Oman’s cultural identity is effectively represented on the global stage. This initiative underscores Oman’s commitment to cultural diplomacy and its role in shaping meaningful global connections through its rich cultural heritage.
