Muscat – During the meeting, both ministers reiterated their commitment to enhancing cooperation and exploring avenues for development across all vital and strategic sectors, aiming to serve the interests and aspirations of both nations.

The two ministers reviewed the strong and historic ties between Oman and the UK and emphasized the importance of advancing joint cooperation in key areas that serve the shared interests and aspirations of both nations. They highlighted the significance of continued dialogue, coordination, and strategic collaboration to reinforce regional security, peace, and stability.

His Excellency Sayyid Badr reiterated Oman’s firm support for the ongoing negotiations aimed at reaching a free trade agreement between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the United Kingdom, underlining its potential to boost economic ties and open new avenues for investment and trade.
The meeting was attended by Munthir Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Head of Europe Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the British delegation included Sir Oliver Robbins, Permanent Under-Secretary of the UK Foreign Office, and Her Excellency Dr. Lianne Saunders, the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman.
