Oman’s 3-5 star hotel revenues climb 12.7% as occupancy and global guest numbers rise

Oman's hospitality sector sees growth, with revenues from 3- to 5-star hotels jumping 12.7% to reach RO 59.04 million by the end of February 2025

Muscat: The National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) reported that the hotel sector’s revenue increase—from RO 52.41 million in February 2024 to RO 59.04 million in February 2025—was supported by a 3.6% rise in total guests, which reached 458,433 during the same period.

Occupancy rates in these hotels also saw a significant uptick, climbing from 60.8% in February 2024 to 67.9% in February 2025—an increase of 11.7 percentage points, reflecting stronger demand across key markets.

Visitor trends showed notable surges from several regions:

African guests surged by 55% to 3,244.

Guests from Oceania rose by 53.4% to 9,735.

Asian guests increased by 8.1%, reaching 60,375.

American visitors grew by 9.2% to 16,130.

European arrivals climbed by 8.7%, totaling 173,455.

Regionally, the number of guests from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries increased by 6.5%, hitting 27,505, while Omani guest numbers dipped by 3.1% to 137,465. Meanwhile, the number of guests from other Arab nations fell by 12.2%, standing at 16,464.
