MUSCAT : “For a safe and reliable e-commerce experience, obtain your e-commerce license easily and quickly through the Oman Business platform,” stated the notice, outlining the steps involved in obtaining an e-commerce license.
The simplified procedure to obtain an e-commerce license through www.business.gov.om involves the following steps:
- Visit the Oman Business Platform at www.business.gov.om.
- Select ‘Manage a Business’ and choose ‘Update Commercial Registration Data’ to add the desired activity as e-commerce.
- Navigate to ‘Licenses,’ then click on ‘My Licenses,’ select Commercial Registration (CR), and click on ‘Submit License Application.’
- Choose ‘Yes’ to license the activity as e-commerce.
- Select the specific e-commerce activity to be licensed and click the ‘Next’ button.
- Click on ‘Select Activity Locations’ and for companies, choose the type of address as ‘Default.’
- Add the business activity location address (either physical address or e-commerce URL).
- Click on ‘Submit License Application.’
- Complete the application form, attach required documents, and pay the associated fees for the license.
Note: Individuals applying as freelancers must have a commercial register for their freelance business if they do not already have a separate commercial register.
