Muscat – The FSA is cautioning public against platforms that promote activities such as buying and selling securities, investments in markets outside Oman, and individual portfolio management with promises of high returns.
The FSA has highlighted that these platforms sometimes use the names of well-established and reputable financial companies to give the appearance of credibility.
The FSA emphasizes the importance of taking the following preventive measures:
- Be fully aware and verify the credibility of platforms before taking any investment step.
- Ensure that the platform being dealt with is licensed by the FSA.
- Be wary of offers that promise huge financial returns in a short period of time, as these are often a trap.
- Report any unlicensed or suspicious platform to help protect everyone.
