Muscat – Trading of Asyad Shipping shares commenced following a successful public subscription of 20 percent of its capital.

The company’s listing, involving 5,208,744,280 shares offered at a price of 0.123 baizas per share, represents a key step in strengthening the MSX with companies that accurately reflect the diverse sectors of Oman’s national economy.

Asyad Shipping’s entry into the market highlights the government’s push to diversify investments and expand the scope of industries represented on the exchange. This step is within the framework of Oman Investment Authority’s (OIA) approaches to divest from some government assets. It also reflects the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, which aim to attract national and foreign investments.

A ceremonial bell-ringing event, celebrating Asyad Shipping’s listing, was held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources. The Minister, along with other key figures from the government and the private sector, attended the ceremony to celebrate the company’s successful transition to the public market.
