MUSCAT : This deadline is part of the regulatory requirements under the Regulation for Health Insurance Electronic Link, as outlined in the Authority’s Decision (83/2023).

As per Article 2 of the decision ‘Health insurance practitioners shall execute all health insurance transactions and exchange of information via the Platform from the date of concluding the Policy until the end of its cover.’

The FSA stressed that institutions which fail to meet the deadline for joining the platform will be removed from the networks of health service providers affiliated with insurance companies, impacting their ability to provide insured services.

The Dhamani platform represents a significant advancement in health insurance technology, streamlining treatment approvals and enabling direct payments for private healthcare providers. This move is expected to enhance efficiency and transparency within the health insurance sector.
