MUSCAT : According to statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information, the total fees collected from legal transactions amounted to RO 7 million, marking a 5.6 percent increase compared to January 2024.
In terms of sale contracts, the value recorded was RO 79.9 million, covering 5,688 contracts, which represents a 20.9 percent drop in value and a 7.1 percent decrease in the number of contracts.
The value of mortgage contracts also saw a slight decline of 0.8 percent, totalling RO 104.5 million across 1,705 contracts, while the number of swap contracts was recorded at 152, valued at RO 1 million.
The number of properties issued by the end of January 2025 stood at approximately 20,588, reflecting a slight decrease of 0.1 percent.
However, the number of properties issued to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) citizens reached 119, representing a 19 percent increase. This indicates continued interest from regional investors in the Omani real estate market despite the overall decline.
