MUSCAT : The initiative, operating under the slogan ‘Because we believe that a person deserves a second chance,’ seeks to release 1,300 individuals this year who are facing financial hardship and legal challenges.

Speaking at an event organised by the Omani Lawyers Association, Dr. Hamad bin Hamdan Al Rubaie, Chairman of the Association’s Board, highlighted the humanitarian spirit of the initiative. He stated: “The ‘Fak Kurbah’ initiative was launched with its lofty humanitarian meanings, to reach all institutions and individuals and every citizen and resident. With them, we have restored hope, and we are moving forward with them to complete this humanitarian journey.”

Dr. Al Rubaie also expressed his gratitude to all the contributors, including individuals, groups, and institutions, for their continued support of the initiative, pointing out how their efforts have helped achieve the societal and humanitarian goals of the program.

Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Zadjali, General Supervisor of the ‘Fak Kurbah’ initiative, shared that this year’s edition seeks to release 1,300 individuals who are currently facing insolvency or legal actions, in line with the initiative’s terms. He further explained that donations to support the initiative can be made through its official website (www.fakkrba.om), the designated bank account, or the ‘Thawani’ application, making it accessible to a wide range of donors.

In his speech, His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, praised the crucial role played by contributing institutions in the success of the initiative, acknowledging it as a living model of giving and social responsibility in Oman.

Since its inception in 2012, the ‘Fak Kurbah’ initiative has helped release more than 7,110 individuals, underscoring its significant impact on the lives of those in need.
