MUSCAT : The Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigation has detected fraudulent advertisements circulating on social media claiming to provide housemaids at attractive prices, to withdraw money from the victims’ accounts through the electronic link attached in the advertisement.
The Royal Oman Police advised everyone not to respond to such fake advertisements, not to open any unknown electronic links, and to avoid disclosing personal and banking information through various social media platforms.
