52 higher education institutions participate in academic and career guidance event in Oman

The 5th University Specializations and Training Programs Exhibition began in the Wilayat of Sohar, bringing together 52 higher education institutions from Oman and abroad.

MUSCAT : Organized by the Directorate General of Education in North Al Batinah, the exhibition will run until February 26, offering students and parents an interactive platform to explore academic and career pathways.

The event was inaugurated under the patronage of His Excellency Habib bin Mohammed Al Riyami, Chairman of the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science. Speaking at the opening, Dr. Walid bin Taleb Al Hashemi, Director General of Education in North Al Batinah, emphasized the exhibition’s role in providing academic guidance and career counseling, enabling students to make informed university choices.

The exhibition features 52 booths presenting a diverse range of academic programs, government and private higher education institutions, training centers, embassies, and international universities. It also offers:

Specialized lectures and workshops on academic fields and international scholarships

Dialogue sessions on engineering, industrial, professional, and technical disciplines

Awareness programs covering career planning, psychological well-being, and health advice

A key highlight of this year’s edition is the Vocational and Technical Education Pavilion, which introduces students to career-focused education tracks, admission criteria, and real-life experiences from enrolled students.
