MUSCAT : Speaking to WION, he emphasized that the relationship extends beyond the 70 years of formal diplomatic relations being celebrated this year.
His Excellency Sayyid Badr highlighted his recent discussions with India’s External Affairs Minister during the inauguration of the official logo marking the milestone. The event, hosted by Oman, saw participation from foreign ministers across the Indian Ocean region, underscoring Muscat’s pivotal role in regional diplomacy.
“It is 70 years of formal diplomatic relationships, but it extends beyond that— a 5,000-year-old connection between the people of India and Oman.”

The foreign minister expressed optimism about the future of Oman-India ties, calling for expanded partnerships across government, private sectors, and youth-driven initiatives.
“The sky is the limit for how much we can do together,” he said, pointing to opportunities in trade, connectivity, and regional cooperation.
As a seafaring nation for millennia, Oman remains committed to strengthening connectivity between Southeast Asia, West Asia, and Africa, positioning itself as a key bridge in the region’s economic and strategic landscape.
“We invite everyone to Oman to engage with us. Oman can truly play an important role,” His Excellency Sayyid Badr concluded.
