MUSCAT : The Musandam tour – from February 17 to 20 – constitutes part of a media programme to document the Sultanate of Oman’s civilisational and historical landmarks and the country’s economic and social development.


Acting in coordination with Musandam Governor’s Office, the media delegation took trips to major landmarks of the governorate and took note of the governorate’s economic, investment and tourism features.
His Excellency Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam, who received the media delegation, gave a comprehensive presentation in which he outlined the governorate’s strategic vision for growth and development. He briefed the media delegation about the most prominent projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the governorate’s position as a major destination for investment and tourism.
The presentation highlighted Musandam’s strategic position as the gateway to the Arabian Gulf and as one of the most important global maritime navigation hubs along the Strait of Hormuz. The briefing focused on the governorate’s competitive advantages, including its exotic natural terrain, diverse marine activities, abundant cultural and historical heritage, as well as attractive investment environment.
H.E. Sayyid Ibrahim stressed that the development projects aim to enhance Musandam’s attractiveness as an investment and tourism destination. He pointed out that efforts for Musandam’s transition lay emphasis on environmental sustainability and the integration of development with the local community. He explained that these efforts, aimed to enhance economic diversity and attract quality investments, stem from Oman Vision 2040.
He told the media team that these projects are expected to generate new employment opportunities, bolster the tourism sector and upgrade the level of services and infrastructure in Musandam, making the governorate a regional centre for growth and prosperity.
The programme of media tours is scheduled to cover the governorates of Al Buraimi and A’Dhahirah.
