MUSCAT : The SPF highlighted its understanding of the father’s concern and provided details on the benefit disbursement process.

In response to the father’s concerns about securing the disability benefit for his daughter, the Fund explained that benefits are distributed to two categories: individuals with specifically classified disabilities, and those with permanent diseases. The father was previously informed that Miral’s condition, while concerning, does not currently fall under the specific disability classifications. However, the SPF clarified that her case will be evaluated within the context of permanent diseases, a category currently under review and classification in coordination with relevant health authorities.

The SPF assured that once this classification process is complete, benefits will be disbursed retroactively to eligible individuals with permanent diseases, dating back to the law’s implementation. The fund stressed its commitment to promptly disbursing benefits upon the finalization of the disease classification.

The SPF reiterated its dedication to managing and distributing social protection benefits efficiently and transparently, based on data provided by relevant authorities. The Fund is also actively working to streamline procedures and expedite processing times in collaboration with partner organizations to ensure benefits reach all eligible recipients promptly.
