Madayn reviews investment opportunities in Oman’s food sector at Gulfood 2025

The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) hosted an event titled ‘Investment Opportunities and Key Enablers in Oman’s Thriving Food Sector’ during its participation in Gulfood 2025 in Dubai.

DUBAI : The event drew a diverse audience of CEOs, investors, and industry leaders from across the global food sector.

The programme featured a discussion session with Omani and international experts, highlighting investment opportunities and enablers in Oman’s food sector, along with strategies to enhance food security, build capacity, and drive innovation for sustainable solutions.

Speaking on the occasion, Eng. Dawood Al Hadabi, CEO of Madayn, said, “Madayn places great emphasis on the food manufacturing sector due to its direct impact on the communities. Today, Madayn is home to 85 food industry projects, with total investments touching RO 150 million.”

The event also saw the launch of several innovative products by Omani SMEs, including frankincense oils, coconut juice, cheese products, and tamarind sauces. These SMEs incorporated creative touches to enhance the products’ appeal and growth potential locally and globally.

The programme featured a discussion session with experts from both Oman and abroad, where the key topics included strategies to enhance food security, build industry capacity, and foster innovation in sustainable solutions for the future of food. Several small and medium enterprises also took the opportunity to launch their innovative food products during the event.

A highlight of the event was the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Madayn and South Korea’s Agro Solution Company. The agreement outlines the establishment of a specialized project in food industries, including the creation of smart farms for Korean fruit production and a café serving products from the farms in Oman.

Madayn also honoured leading Omani companies and factories in the food industry for their contributions to the sector.
