MUSCAT : The Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Investment Promotion has announced a renewed effort to combat “dumping”—the practice of selling imported goods at prices below their normal value in the exporting country’s home market. Officials say this unfair tactic poses a serious threat to domestic industries, endangering local companies by undermining their ability to compete.

The Ministry highlighted that this often occurs in international trade and can harm domestic industries by threatening the survival of local companies. Alongside close monitoring of import activities, the Ministry is developing policies to prevent foreign goods from being sold at artificially low prices.
