Muscat – The initiatives are designed to enhance infrastructure, tourism, and the local economy in the governorate.

The agreements were signed by His Excellency Sheikh Hilal bin Saeed Al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah, with representatives from the implementing companies. Among the major projects included in the agreements are the construction of internal roads in the Wilayat of Samayil, spanning 13 kilometres, and road paving projects in several other wilayats. These include a 20.5-kilometer road in Izki, a 16.6-kilometer road in Adam, and an 11-kilometer stretch in Bahla.

In addition, the governorate is set to enhance the area around the historic Jabreen Fort in Bahla. This project will develop the entrance to Jabreen, expanding parking spaces and preserving the fort’s architectural character. Similarly, the development of the ‘Basya’ entrance and the road leading to the Salut Archaeological Center aims to boost tourism while maintaining the region’s heritage identity.
The agreements also include a new health walkway in the Wilayat of Izki, developed in partnership with Oman Oil Development Company. The walkway will feature paths for both walking and cycling, extending 1,000 meters in length and 5 meters in width.

In the field of artificial intelligence, a memorandum of understanding was signed to incorporate AI and drone technologies for project monitoring and management. This cutting-edge approach will enhance the accuracy of tracking project progress and ensure timely completion.

His Excellency Sheikh Hilal Al Hajri emphasised that these agreements are part of the governorate’s ongoing efforts to improve the quality of life for residents, strengthen the local economy, and meet the needs of citizens through sustainable development.
