Muscat – The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has confirmed that the project is on track, with the detailed design phase set to commence shortly.
Designed by the renowned Zaha Hadid Architects, the sprawling 3.3 million square meter development will transform the Al Khuwair area, featuring a marina, waterfront with beaches and sports facilities, a canal walkway, a cultural quarter, and a ministry complex.
As a key part of Oman’s National Spatial Strategy, the project is aligned with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, integrating modern infrastructure while preserving the country’s natural heritage. With its strategic location near the Al Khuwair desalination plant and the ministries’ area, the development is expected to support Muscat’s expansion plans and also incorporate gradual remodelling of the ministries zone.
