Muscat – The arrival of the charter flight highlights the growing appeal of Oman as a global tourist destination.
The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism confirmed that these weekly flights will continue throughout the tourist season in the coming years, providing a direct link between Oman and the Slovak Republic.
This initiative is part of the Ministry’s broader strategy to diversify the country’s tourism offerings and expand the reach of Oman’s travel appeal. As part of the plan, efforts are also being made to develop additional regions, such as Dhofar Governorate, to host similar charter flights, enhancing Oman’s accessibility and encouraging a steady flow of international visitors.
The Ministry is currently making efforts to activate and operate Sohar and Duqm airports to receive charter flights in the upcoming tourist seasons.

The Ministry also indicated that the charter aviation sector contributes to supporting sectors related to tourism such as internal transportation and shopping and providing job opportunities for Omani youth to work in various logistical work.
It is worth noting that more than 74,000 passengers travelled via charter flights during the last tourist season (2023-2024). This shows an increase of 15 percent compared to the 2022-2023 season, with financial returns amounting to more than RO 23 million.
