MUSCAT : The projects aim to boost sustainable development and improve the quality of life for citizens across the governorate’s various wilayats.

The agreements, signed by His Excellency Mahmoud bin Yahya Al Dhahli, Governor of North Al Sharqiyah, and representatives of the companies implementing the projects, include 23 key projects, most notably the design and paving of internal roads across several wilayats at a cost of RO 24.9 million. Other major projects include the establishment of the Resources Market in Sinaw (RO 9.7 million) and the Bidiya Entertainment Center (RO 2.5 million), as well as several parks, multi-purpose halls, and village developments.

The governorate is also executing over 96 projects valued at more than RO 23 million, including 31 service projects, the paving of 248 kilometres of internal roads, and the installation of more than 3,000 lighting poles. These projects are already in progress, with several nearing completion.

The Governor emphasised that these development efforts align with Oman Vision 2040, focusing on providing essential services, creating job opportunities, and supporting economic and tourism growth in the region. He highlighted that the diverse range of projects will contribute to enhancing local infrastructure and improving the livelihoods of citizens.

Eng. Nasser bin Khamis Al Hassani, Director General of North Al Sharqiyah Municipality, noted that the agreements reflect the governorate’s commitment to addressing the needs of citizens and supporting sustainable development. The projects are tailored to the specific requirements of the wilayats and are expected to have a significant impact on the region’s economy and quality of life.

Zubaida bint Salem Al Shidhaniya, the official spokesperson for North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, added that these projects are part of a broader vision to develop the region’s economy and support small and medium enterprises, creating tangible benefits for residents and visitors alike.
