Muscat: The three-day event, which shines a spotlight on cutting-edge techniques to enhance well productivity, opened under the patronage of His Excellency Mohsen bin Hamad Al Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.

In his opening address, Al Hadhrami underscored that the forum serves as a vital platform uniting experts and specialists to exchange the latest innovations in artificial lift—a key tool in boosting oilfield production and prolonging field lifespans. He highlighted Oman’s commitment to incorporating advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and carbon capture, to surmount operational obstacles. Real-time data analysis, he noted, enables increased production, lower costs, and the reduction of emissions.

Al Hadhrami emphasized the urgency of tackling methane gas leaks in line with global environmental targets, pointing out that innovation in advanced artificial lift systems bolsters operational reliability—even in harsh environments—thereby ensuring sustainable production and shoring up energy security.

Eng. Jassim Ali Al Jabri, Chairman of the Forum, described the gathering as an unparalleled opportunity for professionals to share success stories and best practices. Attendees will also examine pressing technical challenges and emerging technologies in the industry.

Over 50 technical papers are being presented by experts from more than 30 global institutions. Key topics include monitoring greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing the sustainability of artificial lift systems, and leveraging modern technology to bolster production efficiency—particularly in mature fields or under extreme conditions. The forum also welcomes participants from the oil and gas spectrum, from industry veterans to college students, strengthening local talent development.

Alongside the sessions, a specialized exhibition showcases the latest innovations from major international firms in artificial lift technology.
