Muscat – The Ministry reiterated that the system, introduced under Decision No. 299/2023, is a key part of its ongoing efforts to enhance transparency and ensure the protection of workers’ rights in the labour market.
“The system, developed in coordination with relevant stakeholders and partners, ensures the timely payment of wages in line with the terms of contracts approved between employers and workers. This initiative aims to foster a fair and sustainable work environment.
“To facilitate adoption, the Ministry has implemented the system gradually through well-planned phases, allowing establishments sufficient time to adapt. This approach accommodates sector-specific needs while providing support such as technical assistance and guidance to ease the transition. The system’s core objective is to protect workers’ rights and promote trust and transparency in contractual relationships, directly contributing to a work environment that attracts and retains talent,” reads the Ministry statement.
The Labour Ministry also expressed its appreciation for the commitment demonstrated by institutions and businesses that have already implemented the system, noting their dedication to the values of justice and partnership.
The Ministry encouraged both employers and workers to use its official communication channels for any inquiries or clarifications related to the system. It expressed confidence that the collective efforts of individuals and institutions will contribute to the realization of a fair and sustainable labour market that benefits all parties involved.
