Muscat: The all-new L200 pickup has won the Design Car of the Year at the 2024-2025 Japan Car of the Year awards, recognizing excellent exterior and interior design. 

The organizing committee praised Mitsubishi for the L200’s rugged yet inspiring design, which encourages a new lifestyle, and its robust form that harmonizes with the bold Dynamic Shield front-end design. Based on the “Beast Mode” design concept, the L200 boasts toughness, power, and agility, with a three-dimensional front grille, powerful fenders, and a well-balanced double cab.

Inside, the instrument panel follows the Horizontal Axis concept, with a strong horizontal design for easy posture changes while driving. The design incorporates soft pads for passenger protection and high-contrast, modern elements, with switches and dials operable even while wearing gloves.

The L200 traces its roots back to the Forte, released in 1978, with approximately 5.7 million units produced over five generations. Developed under the concept of “Power for Adventure,” the all-new L200 has been overhauled in design and engineering and was first launched in Thailand in July 2023 and introduced in Japan in February 2024. It’s now being rolled out in around 100 countries, catering to customers’ adventurous spirits.
