MUSCAT: Shameer PTK, a popular social worker, received the highest votes in the Indian Schools board elections held on Saturday.
Shameer, who has been doing selfless service to the Indian community over the years, received 597 votes in the election. Among the other candidates who won the election were Damodar R Katti (550 votes), Syed Ahmad Salman (496 votes), Krishnendhu S (440 votes), and Nidheesh Kumar PP (432 votes).
Speaking to The Arabian Stories after winning the election, a delighted Shameer said: “I am thankful to all the parents who voted not just for me for my other fellow members as well. My vision for this role is to create an environment that nurtures academic excellence, emotional resilience, and social responsibility, ensuring that every student, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to realize their full potential and thrive holistically.”

It is worth noting that Shameer has been re-elected for the second time along with Syed Ahmad Salman, Krishnendhu and Nidheesh.
