MUSCAT : The move aligns with health guidelines set by Saudi Arabia to safeguard public health.
In a recent announcement, Oman’s Ministry of Health stated that all individuals intending to perform Umrah must receive the quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine (ACYW135) at least 10 days before traveling to Saudi Arabia. A valid vaccination certificate, issued through the Ministry’s Tarassud system, must be presented. The certificate remains valid for five years.
Vaccinations are available at primary healthcare institutions across Oman for citizens and at private health centers designated by the Ministry for expatriates and residents. The Ministry further recommends receiving a dose of the annual seasonal influenza vaccine to enhance protection during the pilgrimage.
