MUSCAT : This streamlined process aims to ensure compliance with import regulations and facilitate a smoother import experience.
In a statement issued, the Ministry stated:
“In order to ensure compliance with the regulations and instructions related to the import of marine units, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, represented by the Directorate General of Maritime Affairs, invites all individuals and companies wishing to import marine units from outside the Sultanate, such as motor boats, rowing equipment, buoys, and others, to apply through the electronic affairs services portal – https://esma.mtcit.gov.om – to obtain marine approvals required before commencing the import process,” stated the ministry.
The initiative aims to enhance compliance with the applicable maritime regulations, thereby safeguarding the integrity of Oman’s marine environment and ensuring the safety of maritime activities.
For further inquiries, individuals and companies are requested to contact relevant departments.
The Ministry has also noted that the required services can be completed electronically, without the need to visit the Ministry’s departments in person, making the process more convenient for all involved.
