Muscat: His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a phone call from His Excellency Anthony Blinken, US Secretary of State. The US Secretary expressed his sincere congratulations to the Sultanate of Oman, its leadership and its people on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s accession to power.
During the call, views were exchanged on various regional and international issues of common interest, including efforts to enhance security and stability in the region, and the importance of supporting dialogue and international cooperation in facing common challenges.
In the context of the call, His Excellency expressed the Sultanate of Oman’s sincere condolences and solidarity with the government and people of the United States of America in confronting the forest fires that recently broke out in the state of California, praising the great efforts made by the American authorities to contain this disaster and limit its effects on the population and property.

The two sides also stressed their commitment to strengthening the Omani-American partnership and the existing historical friendship ties, and to continue developing cooperation relations in all fields and joint coordination in a way that contributes to consolidating the foundations of peace, stability and sustainable development at the regional and international levels.
