MUSCAT : This initiative aligns with the “Experience South Al Batinah” events running from January 8 to 31, 2025, at the picturesque White Sands (Khabbat Al Qadan) in the Wilayat of Nakhal.

Riya bint Salem Al Maskari, Assistant Director of the Tourism Marketing Department, emphasized that the campaign aims to invigorate tourism in the governorate, showcase its cultural and natural gems, and bolster economic activity for local stakeholders.

The campaign highlights South Al Batinah’s diverse attractions, including the enchanting villages of Balad Sayt, Wakan, and Al Ulaya, along with the therapeutic hot springs of Ain Al Kasfa and Ain Al Thawara. Adventure seekers can explore stunning wadis like Wadi Al Hawqain, Wadi Al Sahtan, and Wadi Bani Kharous.

Visitors can also immerse themselves in history at iconic sites such as Al Hazm Fort, Nakhal Fort, and Rustaq Fort, or enjoy the serene beaches of Al Musannah and Barka. Marine enthusiasts can look forward to activities like sailing, wakeboarding, and a marine heritage exhibition at Al Musannah Beach, organized with support from Oman Sail.

The ministry is supporting the initiative through financial, logistical, and promotional efforts, including collaborations with Mwasalat Company for bus advertising and the screening of a promotional film across Muscat.

Highlighting the synergy between tourism and culture, the ministry has also organized a Geological Heritage Exhibition at Al Hazm Fort, showcasing rare artifacts and Omani geological history. Open for six months, the exhibit offers a rich educational experience for students, geology enthusiasts, and general visitors.
