Muscat – The decision to delay the launch was made due to unfavourable weather conditions, with precise calculations of factors such as wind speed and atmospheric conditions crucial to the successful launch of the missile.
The Duqm-1 launch, a significant milestone for Oman’s space and scientific initiatives, requires optimal weather conditions to ensure the safety and success of the mission. The Ministry, in collaboration with the National Aerospace Services Company (NASCOM), clarified that the launch will be rescheduled once weather conditions improve.
Additionally, the Ministry has confirmed that there will be no direct media coverage of the Duqm-1 launch, as this is the first test launch. They also issued a safety alert to all fishermen and seafarers, urging them to avoid the area defined by specific coordinates during the launch process.
The Ministry emphasized the importance of following all precautionary measures to ensure public safety while the launch is postponed. It also thanked all partners and interested parties for their understanding and cooperation and expressed its keenness to implement this important space project.
