Muscat – In a move to enhance the experience of visitors and promote outdoor tourism, Omran Group (Oman Tourism Development Company) has announced a tender for the operation of abseiling activities at the site, including the development of necessary civil works.
The tender is open to experienced companies, with a submission deadline of December 12, 2024.
The operation of the abseiling activities will run for a two-year period, with the selected company responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring both safety and a world-class visitor experience. Key responsibilities include the removal of existing old bolts, installation of information and direction signs, and providing transport vehicles equipped with safety features for participants.
The project will also involve the establishment of a monitoring station and amenities to further ensure safety standards, alongside the marketing of the cave on both local and international platforms. The selected company will also work on developing complementary activities such as hiking and mountain biking trails, and constructing an elevated boardwalk to protect the cave’s delicate features.
To be eligible for the tender, companies must have previous experience in managing and operating abseiling and other adventure tourism activities. Certification with ISO 21101 – Adventure Tourism Safety Management Systems is also a requirement.
