Omani hotel revenues soar by 5% as guest numbers rise

The revenues of Oman’s three to five-star hotels grew by 5% by the end of October 2024, reaching RO 186.098 million, compared to RO 177.182 million in the same period last year

Muscat: According to data from the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the surge in revenue corresponds with a 5% increase in the total number of guests, climbing to 1,717,512 by the end of October 2024 from 1,635,041 in October 2023. Occupancy rates also increased by 1.3%, reflecting sustained demand in the hospitality sector.

Omani guests contributed significantly to the growth, with their numbers rising by 5.7% to 668,251. European guests recorded the second-highest growth rate at 8.8%, totalling 392,767.

Other notable increases include:

Arab guests (excluding Gulf nations): Up by 11.5%, reaching 85,809.

Asian guests: Up by 4.5%, totaling 250,903.

Guests from the Americas: Increased by 2.2% to 47,212.

African guests: Grew by 5.4% to 10,074.

However, the number of Gulf guests dipped slightly by 0.8% to 170,193, while Oceania saw a sharp decline of 31.2%, with just 24,517 visitors recorded.
