Muscat: A mild earthquake measuring 2.3 on the Richter scale was recorded in the Wilayat of Al Amerat, Muscat Governorate, at 11:06 am today, according to the Sultan Qaboos University Earthquake Monitoring Center.
The quake’s epicenter was located approximately 8 kilometers southwest of Muscat city at a depth of 10 kilometers beneath the surface.
Although the tremor was felt in parts of the Al Amerat area, no damages or injuries have been reported.

Residents living in areas like Muttrah and Al Wadi Al Kabir also felt the tremor and many came out of their buildings out of fear.
