Muscat – These winds are expected to continue for several days, impacting various regions, including Musandam, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Wusta, and Dhofar governorates.
The winds, which will be accompanied by a rise in sea waves, are expected to reach up to 2.5 meters along the coasts of Musandam and the Sea of Oman. The Meteorology Department also warned of the potential for dust storms in desert and open areas, which could lead to reduced horizontal visibility.
In addition to the dust and rough seas, temperatures are expected to drop during this period, which will last until December 20, 2024. The Met office urged residents, particularly those in affected areas, to take precautions, especially when traveling or engaging in outdoor activities, as visibility may be significantly impaired by the dust storms.
