MUSCAT : The Mazoon Copper Project will span an area of 20 square kilometers and is expected to produce 115,000 tons of copper concentrates annually with a purity of up to 21.5 percent copper. This project is an integrated mining and processing venture, designed to strengthen Oman’s position as a global player in the copper production industry.

The project will feature five mining operations and a state-of-the-art processing plant capable of handling 2.5 million tons of copper ore annually. Additionally, it will include integrated administrative and residential facilities to support the operational workforce, contributing to the creation of sustainable local employment opportunities.
The project represents a qualitative leap for Oman’s mining sector. It is set to enhance the Sultanate’s role on the world stage as a producer of copper concentrates while contributing significantly to the expansion of copper value chains. The project is also expected to foster social and economic development in Al Dhahirah Governorate, particularly in Yanqul Wilayat, by creating jobs, stimulating local businesses, and contributing to regional infrastructure development.
