MUSCAT : The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), represented by its Department of Science and Scientific Research, has announced Dr. Al-Dayri as the 2023 recipient of its prestigious creativity and innovation award. Her research, titled “The Extent to Which Government School Principals and Their Teachers Practice Their Roles in Activating the Fields of the Green Economy in Education, and Mechanisms for Enhancing It in Light of Oman Vision 2040,” evaluates the current engagement of educators in advancing green economy fields in Omani schools.
This award, a prominent initiative by ALECSO, reflects its commitment to fostering scientific research across its member states. ALECSO’s award program aims to empower young Arab researchers in fields of technology, innovation, and the promotion of a scientific culture among Arab youth.
Dr. Al-Dayri’s study found that while school principals and teachers in government schools actively engage in promoting green economy fields, the degree of engagement varies across specific green economy areas. The findings underscore the importance of continued support and targeted strategies to fully embed these principles within Oman’s educational system, aligning with the sustainability goals outlined in Oman Vision 2040.
