MUSCAT : The Health Control Section’s campaign targeted various restaurants and barber shops throughout Salalah, emphasizing the importance of compliance with health regulations. Authorities discovered that the closed businesses were failing to adhere to proper food storage practices, with alarming instances of storing food in workers’ housing. This included improper handling of meat meant for skewers and burgers.
In addition to the closures, eight other food-related activities received fines, and their operations are under close scrutiny to ensure they meet all health requirements moving forward.
As part of the enforcement efforts, officials collected samples of food items and water from the establishments for laboratory testing. These tests are aimed at confirming compliance with standard specifications, ensuring that only safe and quality products are offered to the public.
