MUSCAT: Young children below the age of 12 and individuals over-60s will not be allowed to enter shopping malls and commercial complexes, the Supreme Committee said on Tuesday.

Oman allowed reopening of shopping malls from Wednesday, June 24 after shuttering for nearly three months.

According to the guidelines, the malls and shops should be adequately ventilated and regularly cleaned.

Hand sanitisers should be made available at the entrance or the cashier’s desk.

“Prayer rooms shall be closed at all times until further notice is issued by the Supreme Committee,” the statement said.

“Retail shops should not transfer their staff from one department. Parking lots shall be reduced to 50% at all levels of the mall or commercial centres,” the statement added.
