MUSCAT: Oman has denied a media report of a lockdown in North and South Al Batinah governorates due to the rise in coronavirus cases.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Government Communication Centre (GC) said that there is no truth to what is being published regarding the closure of the two governorates. “There is no truth to the report. Such decisions (lockdown) are taken by the Supreme Committee based on the recommendations from the Ministry of Health. People should avoid circulating such rumours,” GC said in a statement.
