MUSCAT: Oman on Monday announced ban on all Eid gatherings including Eid prayers and celebrations, as part of its efforts to contain an outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

The Supreme Committee also issued more restrictive measures including entrusting the Royal Oman Police to monitor the commitment of people towards respecting the preventing measures. This also applies to establishments and public and private sector institutions

The committee also authorised the authorities to impose fines and arrest those who violates the decisions. The committee also directed reopening some more commercial activities.
The committee also made wearing mask mandatory for all in public places.
