MUSCAT: Oman’s Public Prosecution has warned public against spreading hatred among the community and for those doing so will land in jail for up to 10 years.
In a statement issued online, Public Prosecution said: “The Omani community has a long-standing tradition of tolerance and coexistence, rejecting seeds of dispute, dissent and division.
“The law protects the social fabric and promotes the values of coexistence and harmony. It has illegalised any act that promotes prejudices and seditions that disturb the fabric of the community or invoke feelings of hatred among the public. The sentence for such acts is imprisonment for a period extending to ten years,” Public Prosecution added.
